Award Winning Practice

Yes its true!! We are pleased to announce that WAA is an Award Winning Practice. 


We have been presented by the Leeds Sustainability Institute with the Rise Award 2016 for Design and Creativity, with our Homes for Today entry, from Leeds Beckett University.


It was a very challenging category with lots of competition and excellent work but we came out TOP!!

BREEAM Excellent Award

The Practice is delighted to announce that Benfield Park Healthcare and Diagnostic Centre in Newcastle has been awarded the BREEAM Excellent Award. WAA are pleased to have been part of this project.


New exciting days ahead for WAA

The Practice is delighted to announce that following re-structuring the Practice will now operate as Walker Associates Architects LLP under the direction of two Partners. Malcolm Walker, founder of Walker Associates in 2012, will be joined by Emanuela Di Mucci who joined the Practice in 2008 and successfully completed her Architectural studies.

Our flagship development for community health at Benfield Park Healthcare and Diagnostic Centre, Newcastle for the new build centre has obtained its BREEAM Certification with a rating of EXCELLENT.


WAA are delighted with this achievement which further enhances our sustainability portfolio of work with obvious direct benefits to the NUTH Trust and the individual centre user groups.

Headstone restoration for one of the finest 19th c. Architect

June 2015


WAA has been involved in the headstone restoration for one of Huddersfield's finest 19th century Architect, Edward Hughes, who was one of the prominent apprentices of Sir Gilbert Scott.


This involved team work collaboration between WAA, Huddersfield Society of Architects (HSA), Huddersfield Civic Society (HCS), the Local Kirkburton Parish Council and the Wakefield Diocese.

Hungry Llama Indoor Play area and Resturant

May 2015


The new Hungry Llama Indoor play area and resturant has finally opened its doors at Cannon Hall Farm Ltd, Barnsley. The new addition to the successful farm attraction has already attracted a Royal visit from Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, whom officially opened the play barn to the public.


Cannon Hall Farm recent developments has recently won the best Diversification Innovation award at the National Farming Award 2015.
